Frank Warren provides a leak regarding the date and location of the Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua fight. The promoter of the WBC heavyweight champion said that the fight between the two great British boxers would take place in Saudi Arabia.
These two heavyweight giants have never been in the same ring in their careers. But Warren recently promised that things might change this year.
Warren, when speaking about his star fighter Fury vs Joshua on Sky Sports, said: “Next March, if Tyson does what I believe he will do and AJ goes on to win, I'm sure it will spark a big fight. It's like going back to the late 60s , 70s, that's what's happening now. These guys are fighting each other,” he explained.
Boxing fans in England may be interested in watching the Fury vs Joshua duel in their country. But Warren thinks the Middle East is the most likely venue for that fight.
“I have to be honest, I think it's going to go that way (Saudi Arabia). Of course, I want them to be in England. I look back when I was young – all that was many years ago. I saw great fighters like Muhammad Ali, George Foreman, where did they have their big fights?
“The Rumble in the Jungle (in what was then called Zaire). Where George Foreman fought Frazier? In Jamaica. Thriller in Manila. That's what happened. Because they went to a place that made money,” added Warren.
