Suara.com – Constitutional law expert Yusril Ihza Mahendra is scheduled to be examined as a lightening witness for Firli Bahuri as a suspect in the extortion case of former Minister of Agriculture (Mentan) Syahrul Yasin Limpo alias SYL.
The examination of Yusril Ihza Mahendra is scheduled to take place this morning at the Police Criminal Investigation Unit, Kebayoran Baru, South Newsdelivers.com, Monday (15/1/2024).
Director of Special Criminal Investigation (Dirreskrimsus) Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Ade Safri Simanjuntak said that Yusril had confirmed that he would attend the investigator’s summons at 10.00 WIB.
“The information will be available,” said Ade to reporters, Monday (15/1/2024).
According to him, apart from Yusril, there were several other witnesses who were also questioned today. However, Ade did not reveal the number and identity of the witnesses who would be examined.
“There are other witnesses who were also examined,” he said.
Previously, Yusril confirmed that he had been asked by Firli to be a lightening witness. He also admitted that he was willing to be examined as a defense witness.
“At Mr. Firli’s request, I am willing to be a lightening witness,” said Yusril to reporters, last Thursday (28/12/2023).
At that time, Yusril hoped that Polda Metro Jaya investigators could examine him after returning from the Philippines on January 3 2024.
“I am currently in Japan and will continue my journey to the Philippines. The plan is that I will return to my homeland on January 3 2024. I hope that investigators will summon me after January 3,” said Yusril.
