The HBO series titled The Idol which became the vehicle for Jennie BLACKPINK’s acting debut was officially canceled by HBO and there was no continuation of the second season.

Today, Tuesday (29/8) South Korean time, a number of media reported that HBO had decided not to continue the second season of The Idol.
An HBO spokesperson stated, “The Idol’ has been one of HBO’s most provocative original programmes, and we are pleased with the enthusiastic response from our viewers. However, after much deliberation, we and the producers have decided not to continue with a second season.”
Attention, pros and cons to The Idol seems to be HBO’s main consideration, but they don’t forget to thank them.
“We thank the producers, cast, and crew for delivering this incredible performance,” he said.

The news of The Idol’s cancellation has actually been widely heard since last June, but HBO has denied it.
A source told Page Six that Abel “The Weeknd” Tesfaye doesn’t seem interested in continuing The Idol into a second season.
The Idol series follows the journey of a pop singer named Jocelyn, played by Lily-Rose Depp.
Jocelyn is involved in a romantic relationship with a mysterious modern cult leader played by Abel Tesfaye.
The series featuring Jenny BLACKPINK is a series created by The Weeknd along with Euphoria creator Sam Levinson.
