The busy agenda of the Indonesian U-23 national team looking at the 2024 U-23 Asian Cup in Qatar made it difficult for Shin Tae-yong to meet representatives of League 1 clubs. This condition made it difficult for him to negotiate the release of players.
The U-23 Asian Cup will take place from 11 April to 3 May 2024 in Qatar. The Indonesian U-23 national team is in Group A along with Qatar, Jordan and Australia.
Shin Tae-yong said he couldn't meet League 1 teams at this time. “Maybe we won't be able to meet one on one, especially since the National Team already has a schedule,” said Shin Tae-yong.

Shin Tae-yong hopes that the players who are called up to the U-23 Indonesian National Team will be released by the club. Due to this, the U-23 Asian Cup does not include an international break where domestic competitions will continue.
“Hopefully the clubs can work together to release players who have been called up to the national team,” he said.
