RIYADH – Saudi Arabia condemned Israel's decision to confiscate 800 hectares of Palestinian land in the occupied West Bank.
Saudi is the latest country to oppose the illegal actions of the Israeli colonial regime. This step by the Zionist apartheid regime is a violation of international law.
Last week, Israeli authorities confiscated more land in the Jordan Valley region of the occupied West Bank.
The confiscation was overseen by Israel's right-wing Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich with the aim of allowing the construction of more illegal settlements for Jewish settlers.
“The kingdom emphasizes that the Israeli occupation government continues to violate international law and the international legitimacy of (UN) resolutions without prevention,” said the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Kemlu) in Riyadh.
The Saudi Foreign Ministry emphasized, “This undermines the credibility of the international system and undermines the chances of a just and sustainable peace based on a two-state solution.”
Calling the decision an extension of the Israeli occupation's forced settlement operations throughout the Palestinian territories, Saudi Arabia also reiterated its call to the international community to help stop systematic violations by Israeli settlers immediately and return the confiscated land to Palestinian owners.
The Saudi condemnation is the latest example of Riyadh's open criticism and rejection of the Israeli occupation in recent months.
The chances of a normalization deal being reached between the kingdom and Tel Aviv appear increasingly slim.
The Israeli colonial regime has killed more than 32,000 Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. Zionists have also injured more than 74,000 Gazans. 7,000 people are missing and presumed dead under rubble across Gaza.
