JAKARTA – Two Indonesian badminton champions, Anthony Sinisuka Ginting and Jonatan Christie, are reluctant to rest too long after making history at All England 2024. The two men's singles players continue to train hard to prepare themselves to appear in the nearest tournament.
From monitoring by MNC Portal Indonesia at the PBSI National Training Center, Cipayung, Jakarta, Wednesday (27/3/2024) morning WIB, Jonathan and Ginting were given physical training by the coach, Irwansyah. Apart from that, PBSI Olympic Team Performance Analyst, Moh Nanang Hilmawan, also directly monitored it.
During the training session, Jojo – Jonathan's nickname – was seen first doing training by lifting a black weighted ball while stepping over a small platform-shaped goal. After that, it was Ginting's turn to do it.
Looks like the two players are very tired doing it. They sometimes shout to release their tiredness.
Then, they each threw the heavy black ball upwards many times. The training was no less difficult, making Jojo and Ginting lie exhausted on the field after doing it.
After that, they also take turns jumping around with a rope tied crosswise to their legs and arms.
Jojo and Ginting stretched after completing one round of the exercise before doing it again. They really seemed to be practicing furiously with extraordinary enthusiasm.
After monitoring his subordinates, Irwansyah also revealed that this physical training was carried out based on sports science. They are encouraged with various physical exercises to increase their muscle strength and stamina.
“Yes, the exercise was for muscle strengthening. Everything was applied from sports science with various variations,” said Irwanyah to media crew, including MNC Portal Indonesia.
Previously it was known that Jonathan and Ginting made history by recording the All Indonesian Final at the All England 2024 event after 30 years had passed. Jojo emerged victorious after defeating his compatriot in the final match of the Super 1000 tournament with a score of 21-15 and 21-14.
Currently they are continuing to prepare themselves as best as possible in order to get to the 2024 Paris Olympics next July. However, in the near future they will first take part in the Badminton Asia Championship (BAC) from April 10 to 14 in Ningbo, China.
