LONDON – Two British citizens have betrayed by siding with Russia in the war in Ukraine.
Ben Stimson and Aiden Minnis are listed as the first two British men known to have fought for Russia. Their actions were strongly criticized by former British Army commanders.
The two men are in the Donbas region with Russian troops.
In a video, Stimson is seen wearing a military uniform with a Russian flag displayed in his pocket. He spoke in a thick Lancashire accent: “Yes, yes, I'm back in Russia, I'm back in uniform.”
He then waved an unexploded grenade used in Ukraine and joked: “We got a refund from some British taxpayers.”
In another video, Stimson makes it clear who he is fighting for, namely Russia.
“Everyone has their own choice… many of us, foreign volunteers, have chosen to join this side, the Russian side,” he said, quoted from The Mirror, Thursday (28/3/2024).
Meanwhile Aiden Minnis, a former National Front member and convicted gangster from Chippenham, Wiltshire, told The Mirror that he is now a “sapper in the Russian Army”.
Former British Army commander Colonel Richard Kemp was annoyed by the actions of the two men. “Both are truly disgraceful and are traitors who should be arrested and jailed on their return to the UK,” he said.
