HANOI – Vietnam national team star, Nguyen Quang Hai, officially did not play in the last two matches against Indonesia. Nguyen Quang Hai's agent, Michele Donato Fersini, criticized coach Philippe Troussier's decision regarding his client's fate.
Nguyen Quang Hai was again not played in Vietnam's second volume match against the Indonesian National Team at My Dinh National Stadium, Hanoi on Tuesday (26/3/2024) evening WIB. The 26 year old player was left by Philippe Troussier to watch from the bench.
Without his presence, The Golden Star – the nickname of the Vietnam National Team – had to endure embarrassment after losing 0-3 to Indonesia. The CAHN FC midfielder was even seen kicking the water box and crying when his team was helpless against the Garuda Squad.
Seeing this situation, Fersini was surprised by Philippe Troussier's decision not to play Quang Hai. According to Fersini, the French coach had made the wrong decision and did not want to admit it.
“Being a coach is not easy. Regardless of the result, win or lose, we all have to respect the coach's work. However, I'm just amazed because I've never once heard him (Coach Troussier) say, 'I made a mistake,' I made the right choice. wrong,” said Fersini, quoted from Soha VN, Wednesday (27/3/2024).
“Every time I only see statements that imply that the choice is a personal decision. “Maybe after 10 defeats, it's time for people to say that it was my mistake, that I took the wrong decision,” he continued.
However, Fersini said that the coach's decision was absolute. Because according to him, Troussier must have made calculations even though sometimes they didn't match expectations. He hopes that everything can be better next time.
“I think we need to respect the coach's decision. “I also heard coach Troussier say that all decisions depend on his calculations,” said Fersini.
“Coach Troussier is a person who has a lot of experience, but I felt he had difficulty coaching in Vietnam. But it's all over now. “I think we should look to the future instead of talking too much about the past,” he said.
Meanwhile, Philippe Troussier was fired by the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) shortly after two defeats to Indonesia. VFF will reportedly pay quite a lot of compensation money because they fired him before the contract expired.
