Alex Marquez also commented on the collision incident involving Marc Marquez and Francesco Bagnaia at the 2024 Portugal MotoGP race, last weekend. He accused the accident of being the fault of the Ducati Lenovo star jockey.
The incident involving the two MotoGP world champions occurred in the main race of the 2024 Portuguese GP. Marc and Bagnaia fell at Turn 2 with a few laps remaining in the race.
Previously, The Baby Alien managed to overtake Bagnaia at Turn 1 and moved up to fourth position. Then, the defending champion tried to take his place again by entering from the inside of the corner which ended up causing Marc to hit him from the outside.

The incident made Pecco fail to finish the race. Meanwhile, Marc was still able to continue the race and crossed the finish line in 17th position.
Alex believes that the accident occurred purely because of a mistake made by Pecco. According to him, the Italian star was more alert after being overtaken because he saw that there was an open space and the driver who had just overtaken him would definitely try to get in again.
“If I give an opinion, it's not neutral. But it's Pecco's fault because in the end you know that other drivers open up after overtaking and you should be wary of that,” said Alex as quoted by Motosan, Tuesday (26/3/2024).
