Newspapers 54 Years Ago Predicted Solar Eclipse April 20234. PHOTO/ DAILY
NEW YORK – This year's solar eclipse was predicted by a newspaper based in Ohio, United States (US) in 1970.
The report states that the total eclipse phenomenon will be witnessed in North America and Central America on April 8, 2024.
After 54 years, the prediction finally came true.
Reddit community network user Fleegle1834 shared the newspaper clipping with the caption 'Millions watched the eclipse; next phenomenon in 2024' along with the caption, my neighbor still has the newspaper that predicted this extraordinary event.
This also received various reactions from platform users.
“I can't imagine the generation at that time who might think 2024 was a long time to wait,”
“They probably wondered if the world still existed that year?” said one Reddit user.
It is understood that this is a newspaper clipping from The Washington Post and is also being compared to the popular animation, The Simpsons, which repeatedly makes predictions about future events and ultimately they actually happen or are coincidences.
According to the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), the 2024 solar eclipse will be the last visible in the US and the next similar phenomenon is expected to occur on August 23, 2044.
Last year, Americans also witnessed an annular solar eclipse or 'Ring of Fire'.
