TAKE THE QUIZ
Not only in South Korea, this film also set a box office record in Indonesia by becoming the first Korean film to reach more than 2 million viewers.
Seeing the box office achievements, director Jang Jae Hyun opened his voice about the potential for developing a sequel to Exhuma.
“I always open the possibility, but I can't confirm it now,” said Jang Jae Hyun regarding Exhuma 2.
“The story has to be good enough to work on, because I always prioritize quality over commercial success. If anyone wants to bring these four actors into a drama series in the future, I will be very grateful,” he continued.
Exhuma tells the story of a supernatural incident that prompted two skilled shamans, Hwa Rim (Kim Go Eun) and Bong Gil (Lee Do Hyun) to undergo a ritual to prevent the dangerous terror experienced by a family.
When investigated, the mysterious event was related to the threat of evil ancestral spirits. Hwa Rim and Bong Gil then asked for help from feng shui expert Sang Deok (Choi Min Shi) along with grave digging expert Yeong Geun (Yoo Hae Jin).
They then dug up the graves of their clients' ancestors in a remote village. However, the grave turns out to be cursed, giving rise to a dangerous spirit that threatens lives.
