Marc Marquez Almost Gets on the Qatar MotoGP Podium in 2024: It's Not Realistic to Talk about the Champion Title
BOLOGNA – Gresini Racing racer, Marc Marquez managed to finish in fourth place in the 2024 Qatar MotoGP. Even though he almost got on the podium in his first race with Ducati, Marquez considers it unrealistic to think about winning the title this year.
Marc Marquez surprisingly managed to finish in fourth position when the first series race took place at the Losail International Circuit, Qatar on Monday (11/3/2024). The racer from Spain also occupies fourth place in the standings with 18 points and is 13 points behind Francesco Bagnaia.
The success of occupying fourth place at the Losail International Circuit has made many people start to think that Marc Marquez will compete again in the leading position. In fact, it is predicted that the former Repsol Honda mainstay racer will become the 2024 MotoGP champion.
However, Marc Marquez denied targeting the 2024 MotoGP title. He admitted that he had to be realistic in setting targets, because he would feel frustrated if he failed to achieve them.
“One of the things I learned is that you have to set realistic life goals, goals that you can achieve, otherwise the frustration will be much greater,” said Marc Marquez, quoted from Motosan, Tuesday (19/3/2024).
Furthermore, Marc Marquez considers it unrealistic to think about the 2024 MotoGP title. He also admits that he will try to get second place, but his focus now is to adapt to the Ducati Desmosedici to be able to show his best performance.
“At the moment, it's not realistic to think about being world champion. Do I want to be world champion? Yes, will I try? Of course I will try, if I can finish second, it's better than third. But now is the time to build sensation (adaptation),” he concluded.
The arrival of Marc Marquez also had a positive impact on Alex Marquez. Because Marc Marquez's younger brother successfully crossed the finish line in sixth position.
