Kylian Mbappe emphasized that his relationship with Luis Enrique is fine despite plans to leave next summer. Even so, he did not deny that he was currently facing a lot of problems.
Mbappe was a key actor in PSG's victory over Real Sociedad in Leg II of the last 16 of the 2023/2024 Champions League which ended with a score of 2-1. In the match which took place on Wednesday (6/3/2024) early morning WIB, he scored two goals which led his team to win 4-1 on aggregate.
The match was the first time Mbappe played 90 minutes in almost a month. Since February 14, he has never played a full game because he is sometimes substituted or replaced in the middle of a match.
This has happened since the French star told Les Parisiens that he would leave next summer with Real Madrid being the strongest candidate as his club. Enrique admitted that he had to get used to his team playing without Mbappe, so the hero has often not played full time recently.
However, several reports said that this made Mbappe unhappy, so the two parties held an open meeting to resolve the problem. However, the former AS Monaco player said that there was no problem at all.
“I have always wanted to play in the Champions League, it is a very important competition. I can never be a player who hides. My relationship with the coach is good. There are no problems even though people think there are. I have many problems but the coach is not one of them, ” said Mbappe as quoted by the Daily Mail.
In addition, Mbappe has performed brilliantly throughout this season for PSG. The 29 year old player recorded 34 goals in 34 matches in all competitions this season.
However, Mbappe refused to extend his contract with the French League giants which will expire next summer. Because, he reportedly wants to accept the proposal from Madrid, who have been after him for a long time.
