Suara.com – After the Constitutional Court (MK) decided that the parliamentary threshold of 4 percent needed to be changed before the 2024 election, a number of political parties began to voice their ideal limit.
Until now, a number of political parties from the Change Coalition, NasDem Party and PKB have stated that the ideal parliamentary threshold is 7 percent. Meanwhile, PKS has not yet determined the ideal size.
Even so, a number of politicians have called for the parliamentary threshold to be removed because it would result in wasted election votes.
The parliamentary threshold is in the spotlight collected in Suara.com's reporting. It seems that the pros and cons of determining the parliamentary threshold will still be discussed at the decision-making level, namely the DPR and the government. The following is a summary of the news:

Deputy Chairman of the Gelora Party, Fahri Hamzah, agreed that the presidential and vice presidential nomination thresholds (presidential threshold) and parliamentary thresholds (parliamentary threshold) should be removed. Fahri said that if the 2029 election is still being implemented, it will still create distance with the people.
This was conveyed by Fahri while responding to the decision of the Constitutional Court (MK) on Thursday (29/2) which ordered the parliamentary threshold figures and percentages to be reset.
“So, in the future, not only the parliamentary threshold, in fact the presidential threshold must also be abolished because that is what causes the people to be distant from what they have to choose and the rights inherent in the people,” said Fahri in a written statement received in Newsdelivers.com, Sunday.
