JAKARTA – DJ or disc jockey equipment is not as expensive as you think. Because, the equipment for DJing turns out to be quite pocket friendly. Because of this, people interested in the DJ profession have also changed. Even children are now interested in it.
This was conveyed by Rako, Sales Manager of PT Multi Alam Elok (MAE) as the sole distributor of Pioneer DJ in Indonesia. He gave the example of the cheapest Pioneer DDJ-200 priced at IDR 3.2 million while the Pioneer DDJ-FLX4 model costs IDR 6.5 million.
The Pioneer DDJ-200 is even very portable. It is compact in size and can be carried around, can be charged using just a power bank, you don't even need a laptop.
“These two devices are very suitable for beginners who are just interested in learning to DJ. “Just need to connect it to a cellphone, they can immediately mix songs,” said the man who is also a former DJ.
Rako gave details of the costs, to learn DJing you only need a Pioneer DDJ-200 worth IDR 3.2 million plus Pioneer HDJ Cue 1 headphones IDR 1.5 million. The total is less than IDR 5 million.
No Longer Associated with the Nightlife
Rako said that currently being a DJ is not always associated with the nightlife. However, many people actually work by composing songs, or even appearing at various events such as office events, birthdays, at the mall, and even at championships abroad.
“We also see that more and more beginners are interested in becoming DJs because technology makes it easy, user friendly, and equipment prices are increasingly affordable,” said Rako.
He saw that several parents also supported their junior high school aged children to become DJs. “They can mix songs at home, match the tempo, and even create their own songs. “This is a very positive creative space,” explained Rako.
Pioneer itself sees a changing trend in consumers buying DJ equipment. It's not just nightclubs that buy professional DJ equipment which costs hundreds of millions.
