Suara.com – The Constitutional Court (MK) has decided to reject the request for a formal review of Law Number 17/2023 concerning health. This decision was made last Thursday (29/2/2024).
Request for formal review in case no. 130/PUU-XXI/2023 was proposed by various health professional organizations, one of which is the Indonesian Doctors Association (IDI).
“To adjudicate, reject the petitioners' petition in its entirety,” said Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court Suhartoyo when reading out the verdict at the Constitutional Court Building, Central Newsdelivers.com.
Secretary General of the Jokowi Volunteer Front (Bara JP), Dr. Relly Reagan said that the MK's rejection of the formal review of the Health Law meant that the Health Law could be continued to create derivative regulations from the government.
“From Bara JP supports the continuation of the Health Law. With this Health Law, the government, in this case the Indonesian Ministry of Health, can concentrate on creating programs to advance public health and improve reform of the Indonesian health system,” said Relly in a written statement, Sunday (3/ 3/2024).
Bara JP, he said, also hopes that the government can invite discussion and provide guidance from all health professional organizations so that they can accommodate the interests of the Indonesian people.
“Bara JP is ready to oversee and assist government programs in the health sector because Bara JP itself has a wing organ, namely Bara Tangguh / BATU which is in charge of health and social affairs,” added Relly.
For your information, in one of its considerations, the Constitutional Court is of the opinion that the structure and systematics of the Health Law are in accordance with the principles of forming good laws using the omnibus method, so that it is easy to read and understand by users and relevant stakeholders.
