He then switched to buying rice at a basic food stall near his house. Last month, he still got the price of IDR 13,000 per liter. However, on Thursday morning (29/02/2024), the rice had increased to IDR 14,500 per liter.
“It still doesn't taste as good as the premium 5 kg package. The rice is a bit dry. So you have to be smart when cooking,” he said.
Mother Fitri, who lives in Depok, also experienced the same thing. He had to swallow his disappointment because the supermarket he visited on Sunday (25/02/2024) did not have 5 kg of premium rice in stock. “At that time it was available. But it ran out very quickly,” said Mother Fitri.
Meanwhile, Mother Annisa in South Newsdelivers.com is having difficulty getting the two brands of 5 kg premium rice that she patronizes at specialty grocery stores. This is because two of them have run out.
“So you buy new brands of rice and the price is more expensive,” he said.
Meanwhile, Bunda Tia in Bekasi admitted that her regular rice can still be bought on e-commerce. But the price has gone up.
“The brand that usually costs IDR 70 thousand per kg is now IDR 90 thousand,” he said.
Then Bunda Sari, who lives in Tangerang, admitted that she had difficulty finding the brand of premium 5 kg rice she used. At his regular supermarket on Wednesday (28/02/2024), only 5 kg Bulog SPHP rice was available for IDR 54,500 and other brands of rice were more expensive. Even then, you can only buy one per transaction and at a special cashier that doesn't use a trolley.
“I have to pay separately from other purchases at another cashier. As a result I have to carry 5 kg of rice myself without a trolley to a special cashier,” he said.
