CAPITAL CITY OF THE NUSANTARA – As an effort to support the accelerated development of the Capital City of the Archipelago (IKN), PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom) is ready to build the Telkom Smart Office building, which was marked by a symbolic laying of the first stone or groundbreaking by the President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo, in the Archipelago Capital (IKN) area, North Penajam Paser, East Kalimantan on Friday (1/3/2024).
This is in line with Telkom's commitment to accelerate digitalization throughout Indonesia through connectivity, platforms and digital services, especially in building IKN into a smart city.
President of the Republic of Indonesia Ir. Joko Widodo in his speech appreciated and inaugurated the start of construction of the Telkom Smart Office IKN.
“This will strengthen digital connectivity, strengthen digital platforms, and strengthen digital services for the archipelago, which we aspire to become a World Class ICT city. I am sure, if Telkom has entered, it will be easy to get there, becoming a smart city and working on e-government will be much easier. “I believe, Telkom believes,” said Joko Widodo.

Minister of BUMN of the Republic of Indonesia Erick Thohir said, IKN is a monument to the realization of an advanced and modern Indonesia, where BUMN as development agents must participate in realizing this, especially in basic infrastructure such as telecommunications, banking, transportation and so on.
“Telkom as a state-owned telecommunications company has the task of providing reliable connectivity and digital services, connected throughout Indonesia and making IKN the Telecommunication Hub for the archipelago as early as possible,” he said.
Telkom President Director Ririek Adriansyah said that digitalization is not just a necessity, but is the main catalyst in driving progress in the national economy. The groundbreaking of the Telkom Smart Office IKN is a form of Telkom's support in developing the digital ecosystem in the IKN area.
TelkomGroup has a high commitment to supporting IKN development with complete digital infrastructure, including Digital Connectivity, Digital Platform and Digital Services.
In the Digital Connectivity aspect, Telkom provides reliable connectivity infrastructure with a fiber optic backbone and extensive access network, based on fixed broadband, Telkomsel 4G and 5G cellular, satellite and WiFi.
Telkom also provides a Digital Platform which can be an Enabler of digitalization in IKN through the provision of Data Centers, cloud computing services, cyber security, and Internet-of Things (IoT).
