JAKARTA – A businessman from South Kalimantan, Andi Syamsuddin Arsyad alias Haji Isam, caused a stir after ordering a Boeing Business Jet (BBJ) MAX 7 aircraft for IDR 1.5 trillion. Worth the price, this business jet does have great specifications.
Haji Isam made an order for the MAX 7 jet through his company, Seacons Trading Ltd, to Boeing, some time ago. Reporting from Aerocorner, Thursday (29/2/2024), the MAX 7 was first introduced to the public at the Farnborough Air Show in July 2016.
On March 16, 2018, the MAX 7 made its maiden flight in Renton, Washington. The plane flew about three hours over Washington and landed at Boeing's center in Moses Lake after reaching 250 knots and 25,000 feet.
MAX 7 specifications
The MAX 7 jet offers customers greater range, comfort and space than any business jet in its class. This jet is capable of flying a distance of 12,964 km and has a personalized interior to suit customer preferences and needs.
In terms of dimensions, the MAX 7 jet has a fuselage length of 35.56 meters, a diameter of 3.8 meters, and a tail height of 12.3 meters. The MAX 7 has the wings and landing gear of a 737-8. Its wingspan reaches 35.9 meters. Instead of a single door configuration, there are a pair of emergency doors above the wings as a means of evacuation to the wings.
In the cockpit, the MAX 7 is equipped with an advanced Common Display System (CDS) provided by Honeywell which has six flat Liquid Crystal Displays (LCD). The flight controls are equipped with a fly-by-wire extension spoiler to aid roll control and act as a speed brake during landing.
This control also helps achieve weight reduction. The aircraft is also equipped with an anti-icing system to continuously inhibit ice formation resulting in clean wings, and an electronic air bleeder system for increased cabin pressure.
The MAX 7 cabin has a maximum capacity of 172 seats. In second-class seating configuration, it can accommodate 138 to 153 passengers. The MAX 7 cabin is 3.54 meters wide and 4.01 meters high.
MAX 7 Engine and Performance
The MAX 7 jet is powered by two LEAP-1B (Leading Edge Aviation Propulsion) turbofan engines from CFM International. These engines have a maximum thrust of 29,317 lbf each. This provides improved fuel consumption by 15%, and maintains the same measures of delivery reliability and maintenance costs. The machine is also equipped with a Dust Rejection System for protection against erosion, and to prevent sand, dirt and other harmful objects from entering the core.
This aircraft has a maximum takeoff weight of 72,348 kg and landing weight of 61,462 kg, with a maximum payload capacity of 14,016 kg and a fuel tank capacity of 6,820 US Gal. With a capable engine, the MAX 7 can fly to a height of 41,000 feet and has a range of 3,850 nautical miles. Maximum cruising speed is 453 knots. The MAX 7 has a takeoff and landing distance of 2,100 meters and 1,500 meters respectively.
