Suara.com – Minister of BUMN, Erick Thohir continues to consistently improve the mental health of BUMN employees through roadshow events by inviting the younger generation of BUMN to get involved and care about mental health. The event entitled 1000 People Telling Stories, which is the 5th roadshow, was held on Tuesday (27/2/2024) at Watu Beach Lamaru, Balikpapan, East Kalimantan. As many as 300 young BUMN employees from the millennial generation and Gen Z took part in this activity.
Erick Thohir, through Special Staff III, Arya Sinulingga, revealed that he wants BUMN employees to have a strong and healthy mentality from a young age so that when they become leaders in BUMN they can provide positive performance.
“This performance certainly includes two aspects from the company and employee side. It can bring the company to consistent profits, on the other hand, it also has employees with good physical and mental health. Moreover, Mr. Erick continues to encourage individuals under 40 years of age to become company leaders. “The Minister really cares about mental health, that's why BUMN is encouraged to be a pioneer in terms of mental health,” explained Arya.
This is in line with the Employee Well-being Policy (EWP) which has been released by the Minister of BUMN some time ago. EWP is the foundation so that all BUMN and their employees not only pursue profits for the company but also provide balance for employee mental health.
In the 1000 People Telling Stories activity there was an inspiring discussion with a number of figures who have close experience regarding mental health including Aurelie Moeremans (actress), Adinda Cresheilla (Princess Indonesia Tourism 2022), Hendrick Tanuwidjaja (Mindfulness Practitioner), Raden Prisya (Mindfulness & Well-being Coach ), Fadjar Djoko Santoso (Millennials/BUMN Runners & VP Corporate Communication Pertamina).
There are also special face-to-face consultation sessions with psychologists for mental health treatment.
Apart from inviting BUMN employees in Kalimantan to the 1000 People Telling Stories event, there was a BUMN influencer workshop to improve the communication competence of BUMN employees via social media. The workshop was filled with special sessions and themes to create content for the National Capital City (IKN) and BUMN assets in Balikpapan. The series of events closed with the Fun Run 5K morning run on Wednesday (28/2) with all event participants and BUMN Runners Kalimantan with the starting route starting from Merdeka Square to the Pertamina Balikpapan Housing Complex.
The entire series of event activities is a collaboration between the Ministry of BUMN and Pertamina, Pegadaian, Bukit Asam and Housing Development (PP). East Kalimantan (Balikpapan) was chosen as the 5th city in a series of roadshow events after previously being held in Newsdelivers.com, the Special Region of Yogyakarta (Magelang), East Java (Malang), and Bali (Denpasar).
