JAKARTA – Virtual reality glasses have become a trend among technology lovers. Cellphone manufacturer Oppo is also competing in this new market niche.
Oppo started by releasing a prototype of virtual reality glasses at MWC Barcelona on Monday (26/2/2024). The debutant called Oppo Air Glass 3 has a different appearance compared to competing products.
Mashable reported that glasses weighing 50 grams appear comfortable to wear for a long time because their shape is similar to other glasses. The shape of the virtual screen is in the upper corner of the vision by touching the frame to activate the voice assistant with artificial intelligence.

The glasses then issue voice commands, or use the touch interface to make voice calls, listen to music, browse photos, and the like. These glasses are equipped with four microphones and noise isolation so users should be able to hear music in high quality while not disturbing those around them.

The artificial intelligence in these virtual reality glasses is a type of Oppo's LLM (large language model) called AndesGPT. This technology is not available outside China so these glasses may not be launched on a massive scale. The interesting side of the Oppo Air Glass 3 is that it adopts Google's artificial intelligence. Unfortunately, Google Glass is considered less successful.
