The next country is India. Indian people are able to consume 97,350 metric tons of rice every year. Although India is a country that produces grains, such as corn, wheat and sorghum. However, rice is still the staple food of the Indian population.
In this case, the Indian government is able to support farmers by subsidizing fertilizer, seeds, electricity and rice processing machines. The Indian government plays a very important role in distributing rice.
3. Indonesia

The third highest rice consumer in Asia is Indonesia. Every year, Indonesia consumes 37,400 metric tons of rice and around 77% of farmers in Indonesia grow rice. Java and Sumatra are the largest rice farming areas.
Around 60% of total rice production is harvested on the island of Java. According to the International Rice Research Institute, it is predicted that in the next 25 years or more, Indonesia will need 38% more rice than it does now.
