The case of bullying at an international school is being hotly discussed. Some of the alleged perpetrators are said to be children of public figures or officials. One of those who has been confirmed is the eldest son of Vincent Rompies, a famous Indonesian presenter who still exists today.
Regardless of whether the school is an expensive international school which may only be accessible to the middle to upper economic groups, the question arises; Is it true that the perpetrators of bullying almost always come from children who feel they have power?
A child psychology practitioner who graduated from the University of Indonesia, Aninda, SPsi, MPsi, explained that in fact the same risks could befall children from any group.

“It's just that because in the current case the alleged perpetrator happens to be the son of an official or the son of an artist, this is why this is being widely discussed. Brawls between schools often occur, fights between gangs occur every day,” explained Aninda, quoted from detikHealth, Tuesday (20/2/2024) .
“This bullying behavior can be carried out by anyone, from any social strata. Because again, what determines whether this bullying behavior occurs is not whose child it is, but how they are taught,” he continued.
According to Aninda, children's behavior at home can look cute because they want attention from their parents. Meanwhile outside the home, it depends on the social sphere.
Some children also try to get the attention of the desired group by doing various things to appear 'equal'. If it is in the wrong area, this can have negative influences such as fighting, alcohol use, and other behavior that is detrimental to children.
Aninda emphasized that this is the gap to strengthen open communication between parents and children.
