Suara.com – Deputy General Chair of the NasDem Party, Ahmad Ali, also responded to the inauguration of the General Chair of the Democratic Party, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) as Minister of ATR/BPN.
According to Ali, the appointment of AHY as minister is a sign that President Joko Widodo wants to make the situation in government more conducive.
“Yes, I see more that at the end of President Jokowi's administration, he wants the government to be more conducive,” said Ali when contacted by journalists, Wednesday (21/2/2024).
Apart from that, Ali believes that Jokowi wants to minimize the dynamics that occur in the legislature during the remainder of his term of office. Because so far the Democratic Party led by AHY has been in opposition to Jokowi's government.
“He wants to minimize dynamics in the legislature. He wants to complete the work, he wants to complete his leadership to be more accommodating in my opinion,” said Ali.
Furthermore, Ali is of the view that the appointment of AHY as minister seems to be a precursor to the Democrats' important position in the government after the 2024 elections.
“Then in 2024, at least there will be plans,” continued Ali.
As is known, Democratic Party representatives who supported Prabowo-Gibran in the 2024 presidential election ultimately received ministerial slots in Jokowi's cabinet.
Chairman of the Democrats, AHY was officially appointed Minister of ATR/BPN by Jokowi at the State Palace today.
AHY replaces Hadi Tjahjanto who was moved to become Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs. After being officially inaugurated, AHY and Hadi Tjahjanto took the oath of office in front of Jokowi.
