BRESCIA – Indonesian racer, Qarrar Firhand really proved himself as a world class racer at the Franciacorta Circuit, Brescia, Italy, which ended on Sunday (18/2/2024).
After achieving the best results at the start of the 2024 race, this time, Qarrar Firhand, who is familiarly called Al, once again showed his class at the WSK Super Master Series Round 3 world race by passing a number of racers to reach the top 10 positions out of a total of 98 kart drivers competing in the Junior class at end of race.
Yes, this race with an entry list of 98 go-karts in the Junior class from dozens of countries is part of the WSK series which is the highest go-kart racing competition in Europe and the participants are national champions in a number of countries.
Qarrar Firhand experienced engine problems during Qualifying and only completed 2 laps and had to settle for 13th place with an overall position of 39th on Friday 16 February 2024.
Participants were divided into 5 groups and each group competed in 2 groups for each heat out of a total of 4 heats which determined whether they would advance to the next round, namely the Pre-Final round.
In each heat, Qarrar overtook other racers to get the leading position, so that in the last heat he finished 9th from starting position in 13th. He practically managed to pass five racers.
In the pre-final round, Qarrar, who started from 16th position, finished in 5th position, meaning he was able to beat 9 racers.
Meanwhile, in the Final race on Sunday 18 February 2024, Qarrar Firhand, who started in 25th position, with precise tactics, managed to finish in 9th position, advancing 16 positions in the 15 laps he traveled.
This result is an improvement from the previous year for Qarrar, this proves that Qarrar has improved his achievements in world-class Go-kart racing so he managed to reach the top 10 in the world, especially since this is Qarrar's first year competing in the Junior class.
“The target is to finish in the top 10 and maintain it so that I can finish in the top 5, although I don't feel it's right because there were machine problems during qualifying. “Luckily we were in the top 10,” said Qarrar, who is now supported by Telkomsel, Pertamina, Bank BTN, Eiger and In Time after the race.
In the 2024 racing season, Qarrar Firhand will join the Parolin Top Team, which has produced world-class Karts to the Formula 1 level such as Charles Leclerc and Esteban Ocon.
