Newsdelivers.com –
Rice is an important staple for Indonesian people. Not long ago, it was reported that rice was scarce on the market.
Even though it was rare, some time ago it was said that rice stocks had returned to a number of retail stores in the West Newsdelivers.com (Jakbar) area. However, there are still areas that have not had rice since a month ago.
There are two Alfamarts and Indomarets each along this road. First, premium rice appeared empty at Indomaret Kota Bambu Utara F399. This minimarket does not sell premium rice in 5 kg packages.

The rice shelves in several supermarkets only appear to be filled with red rice variants. There is no premium rice or Stabilization of Food Supply and Prices (SPHP) and Perum Bulog.
“There's been no rice here since a month ago. There's only brown rice left,” said the shopkeeper at Indomaret, North Bambu City F399, to CNNIndonesia.com, Sunday (18/2).
However, the mini market guard admitted that he did not know why the rice had been empty for a month. He didn't understand whether the rice stock in the warehouse had run out or not.
Rice is starting to appear in supermarkets
About 140 meters on foot, there is Alfamart Kota Bambu 2. Conditions are 180 degrees different from the previous mini market.
When interviewed, Bintang, the Alfamart guard, said that his shop provides premium and medium rice. There is SPHP rice to Alfamart brand premium rice with the name Setra Pulen.
“There is rice, but there are only four left. Three are SPHP, one is Setra Pulen. It just arrived yesterday,” he explained.
On the board it is stated that Alfamart premium rice is priced at IDR 69,500 per pack, aka per 5 kg. Meanwhile, medium quality SPHP rice is priced cheaper, namely IDR 54,500 per pack.
Bintang said that the supply of rice from the new warehouse went to Alfamart Kota Bambu 2 in the amount of 3 sacks, where each sack contained 5 packs of rice. In other words, this mini market has only been supplied with 15 packs, aka 75 kg of premium rice and SPHP.
“Here (Alfamart), rice purchases are limited to one pack per person. Yes, previously it was rare. Before yesterday's arrival, it had been empty for about five days,” concluded Bintang.
