Suara.com – The General Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) asked the General Election Commission (KPU) to explain the effect of the resolution produced from the cell phone cameras of Voting Organizing Group (KPPS) officers on data errors in the Recapitulation Information System (Sirekap).
Bawaslu Chairman Rahmat Bagja believes that this explanation needs to be conveyed by the KPU because Sirekap has generated polemics in the community.
Bagja also suspects that the Sirekap which did not match the C form of vote counting results at the polling station (TPS) was caused by an error by KPPS officers.
“So if there is a problem with the calculations, maybe the KPPS is sleepy. The cellphone is not clear, for example. The resolution (camera photos) is different, so it considers the number 0 to be 8, depending on the cellphone too. The KPU actually has to explain this,” said Bagja at the Bawaslu Office, Central Newsdelivers.com, Friday (17/2/2024).
“So, for example, there is a KPPS whose cellphone has a problem, then the captured image is sent, the resolution becomes 80,000, 700, this is from the KPU's statement. It decreases, for example (resolution),” he continued.
For this reason, Bagja appealed to the public to be better off relying on Form C Results rather than Sirekap. Because, Sirekap still has a number of shortcomings.
“Well, how do you do it, look at the C Plano, it's a bit tiring. But yes, because capturing images is a bit problematic. It depends on the resolution of the cellphone. Yes, this is a new system, and I think there will definitely be trial and error,” he said.
Based on the KPU's confession, said Bagja, trial and error had actually been carried out in Sirekap long before the voting.
Previously, the KPU confirmed that there was no fraud in the inconsistent conversion incident between C1 vote counting results at the TPS and data at Sirekap.
KPU Chairman Hasyim Asy'ari admitted that he had no intention of manipulating the election results with this incident. On the same occasion, Hasyim admitted that the KPU made a mistake so that the conversion between C1 and Sirekap was not appropriate.
However, he ensured that the KPU would correct the error.
“In essence, we at the KPU are still ordinary people who are very likely to make mistakes, but we make sure that if we make mistakes, we correct them. The most important thing is that the KPU cannot lie and must speak the truth,” said Hasyim.
As previously reported, the KPU confirmed that there was a discrepancy between the C1 vote count results and Sirekap.
Hasyim explained that his party received reports directly and on social media which showed that there were a number of cases showing data in Sirekap with C1.
“Actually, the system or Sirekap recognized that the conversion results were wrong or inaccurate with the data in the calculations or writing in the uploaded form,” said Hasyim.
He revealed that there were 2,325 TPS which showed differences between the C1 vote count results and the data in Sirekap.
“To date, 358,775 TPS have been uploaded. Of the 2,325 TPS that were found to be incorrect, the TPS were incorrect or the forms were not read correctly by the system, compared to the 358,775 that have been uploaded, that is approximately 0. “64 percent or below 1 percent,” said Hasyim.
Furthermore, he claimed that Sirekap could also recognize if there was a data conversion that did not match the C1 of the vote counting results.
“The Sirekap system recognizes that there is a miscalculation or conversion error or the system is not appropriate for reading the forms that have been uploaded so that the consequence is that the conversion is not correct,” said Hasyim.
For your information, the suitability of the Sirekap data with the C1 form has been widely discussed by social media users
In this way, allegations emerged on social media regarding the potential for election fraud because they thought there was a mark up in Sirekap's input data.
