WASHINGTON – Attorney General of West Virginia in the United States (US), Patrick Morrisey, asked that President Joe Biden be removed. The reason is that the president is physically unable to carry out his duties, including his poor memory.
Morrisey then asked Vice President Kamala Harris to certify Biden's physical inability to carry out his duties as president.
The request was contained in a letter sent to Harris on Tuesday Washington time.
Last week, a report from US Department of Justice special counsel Robert Hur described the 81-year-old president as “an elderly man with a poor memory”.
However, Hur's report advises against prosecuting Biden for his mishandling of classified documents.
Morrisey has now called on Harris to invoke the 25th Amendment to remove Biden and take over his role.
“Hur's report provides a clear picture of a President who is not ready to carry out his duties,” read the letter, as quoted by RT, Thursday (15/2/2024).
“His cognitive decline is of great concern to the American people, especially at a time when our country is experiencing crisis after crisis both at home and abroad.”
“We need a mentally healthy president,” the West Virginia Attorney General's letter continued.
