A certified physiotherapist and diet counselor and MIAP consultant, Dr. Swathi Reddy (PT), advised not to mix melons and similar fruits, such as watermelon, muskmelon, cantaloupe melon, and honeydrop melon with other fruits.
This is because melon contains a lot of water so that the nutrients from other fruit cannot be digested properly when mixed with melon. Apart from that, mixing melon juice with other fruits can also cause flatulence or discomfort.

Fruits that contain starch, such as green bananas and plantains, should not be mixed with fruits that are high in protein, such as guava, dried apricots, kiwi, avocado and blackberries.
Combining these two types of fruit can be dangerous because the body needs a balance between acid bases to digest protein, and alkaline bases to break down starch.
