As reported by The Mainichi, Sunday (4/1/2024), this was revealed to the public by Nissan Motor Co. and baby equipment maker Akachan Honpo Co.
A robot named Iruyo is placed facing the baby in the back seat and a second robot is near the driver's seat.
When the driver says, 'Iruyo' (I'm here), 'Inai-inai ba' and two other sentences to a nearby robot, the other robot will wave its hand and make other movements to soothe the baby.
The robot in the back seat also uses a camera to detect changes in the baby's facial expressions.
It sends this information to a robot near the driver's seat that tells the driver whether the baby is awake or asleep.
Currently, there are no plans to sell the robot.
