Suara.com – Former Army Chief of Staff (KSAD) General (Purn) Dudung Abdurachman believes that the TNI/Polri remain committed to maintaining neutrality.
This belief was conveyed when responding to the call by PDI-P General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri for TNI and Polri officers to maintain neutrality.
“For example, there is no such thing as non-neutrality, and I am sure that the leadership of the TNI and Polri. Yes, if there are subordinates who are not neutral, they will definitely act decisively.” said Dudung, who was present to provide support to Prabowo Subianto during the presidential candidate debate at the JCC, Senayan, Newsdelivers.com, Sunday (4/2/2024).
“Because he already knows the rules and regulations and the basic responsibilities as TNI/Polri. If they are not there, who will provide security,” he said.
Regarding Megawati's statement, Dudung assessed that the remarks of the fifth President of the Republic of Indonesia tended to be tendentious.
“So, in my opinion, Ms. Mega's statement is tendentious. In my opinion, it's a baseless accusation, yes. A baseless accusation. In my opinion, the TNI-Polri don't need to be afraid of chatter like that, just believe that we are neutral,” like that,” said Dudung.
The Ndaru Volunteer Advisory Board actually hopes that Megawati can convey neutrality to the State Intelligence Agency or BIN.
“Yesterday it wasn't said, why is BIN neutral? You should have said that BIN is also neutral,” said Dudung.
BIN neutrality
Not without reason, neutrality at BIN must also be emphasized. Dudung reminded us about the discovery of an integrity pact which was allegedly signed by the Acting Regent of Sorong Yan Piet Mosso and the Head of West Papua, Brigadier General TNI TSP Silaban.
“There is already a reality in Papua. There are statements circulating in the media, right?”
“The statement about Kabinda is one, where did it come from? From BIN, right? Mrs. Mega should have said that too. That's how it is, right. If the TNI-Polri don't have proof, there aren't any facts yet, yes. I'm sure there's no need for the TNI-Polri scared,” said Dudung.
Previously, during the Ganjar-Mahfud grand campaign at the GBK Senayan Stadium, Newsdelivers.com, PDIP General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri touched on the neutrality of the TNI-Polri in the 2024 Presidential Election. The Chair of the Democratic Party's Bappilu, Andi Arief, agreed with Megawati's remarks.
“Ms. Mega's call for the TNI and Polri to be neutral is good,” said Andi Arief in his tweet @Andiarief_ as seen, Sunday (4/2/2024).
Even though he agrees, Andi Arief thinks there is something missing. He said that the State Intelligence Agency or BIN must also be reminded to be neutral.
“But it feels inadequate. We must also remind other apparatus, including the State Intelligence Agency, to be neutral,” he said.
Megawati Alludes to Intimidation by Officials
PDI Perjuangan Chairman Megawati Soekarnoputri issued a strong statement regarding the threat of intimidation in current politics. He then invited all supporters of candidate pair number 3, not to be afraid of intimidation.
Even in her political speech, Megawati asked government officials, especially the TNI, Polri and ASN, to stop intimidating the people.
Megawati reminded that intimidation should not be carried out at this time.
“Hey, police, don't intimidate my people anymore,” said Megawati.
Not only the police, Megawati also reminded the TNI.
“Hey, TNI, don't intimidate my people anymore,” continued Megawati.
The 5th President of the Republic of Indonesia also gave the example of Aiman's case.
“It's nice to call people's children,” he said.
In fact, Megawati emphasized that PDIP is a legitimate and recognized party in Indonesia.
“I remind the police, TNI, ASN, no more, starting today, no more (intimidation) of my people,” said Megawati, ensuring that she would never be afraid of state officials.
“It's delicious, my children want to be like that,” said Mega, stating that intimidation occurred because there were opponents who were afraid of losing.
In fact, Megawati confirmed that there were police officers at the campaign location.
“So there should be no good police, no bad police,” he said later.
The former president also recalled his experience of being summoned by the police three times during the New Order era.
“Don't be afraid, what are the general's bad things? I accept the highest, you know, it will never be erased, you know, because I am called the Republic of Indonesia. Why do you do that, right? Because they are afraid of being wrong,” said Megawati later.
“I said yes, we're both brave. If you haven't become president, you're already intimidating, using state money, my people are afraid because they don't understand the law,” he said.
