Suara.com – The results of the Indonesian Survey Circle (LSI) Denny JA survey show that the young generation under 30 years old, namely generation Y or millennials and Z, tends to choose candidate pair number 2, Prabowo-Gibran.
Director of KCI LSI Denny JA, Adjie Al Faraby, explained that this figure had even exceeded 55%. As for generation Y, namely people aged 30-39 years, Prabowo-Gibran received support of up to 56.4% and 58.6% for generation Z who are now under 30 years old.
“The Prabowo-Gibran pair won the most, winning among voters from the millennial generation and below,” said Adjie in his online presentation, Monday, (30/1/2024).
“However, if we look at the total, Prabowo-Gibran is superior in all age segments, both those under 30 years old and elderly voters,” he continued.
Adjie also explained a number of things that enabled Prabowo-Gibran to reach young voices. One of them is the campaign style which now feels more humanistic.
“First there is the Gibran factor himself because he represents the millennial generation. Then the Prabowo-Gibran campaign style is increasingly changing, it looks more humanist, there are those who are more in line with young voters,” said Adjie.
Apart from being superior among the younger generation, the vote for Prabowo-Gibran was also high among social media users with a support rate of 49.5% and non-social media users at 52.8%.
“So Prabowo-Gibran is superior to those who have social media, or those who don't have social media,” he stressed.
LSI Denny JA conducted research from 16-26 January 2024. They involved 1,200 respondents in the survey.
