Starting from witnesses
Dito Mahendra's illegal firearms possession case began when he was a witness in a corruption case.
Dito Mahendra is one of the witnesses in the corruption case of Nurhadi, secretary of the Supreme Court.
From KPK information, Dito Mahendra kept assets belonging to Nurhadi's son-in-law, Rezky Herbiyono.
Dito Mahendra's house in the Kebayoran Baru area, South Newsdelivers.com was searched by the KPK in March 2023.
“KPK investigators found a room or rooms that were locked using an access code,” said the Public Prosecutor at the South Newsdelivers.com District Court on Monday (15/1/2024).
In the room, KPK investigators found various types of firearms, air weapons, sharp weapons, firearms documents, magazines, ammunition and firearms accessories.
“Apart from the 15 weapons, investigators also found sharp bullets for long-barreled rifles and a number of 9 mm sharp bullets for pistol-type weapons as well as small bullets for S & W pistols,” explained the Public Prosecutor.
When investigated, it turned out that there were several weapons without documents. This is what then led Dito Mahendra to be involved in an illegal firearms case.
“6 firearms, 1 air rifle and 2 air soft guns were not accompanied by valid Firearms Import Permit documents and firearms ownership pass books (BPSA),” said the Public Prosecutor.
Dito Mahendra was then named a suspect in the illegal firearms case. The 34-year-old man has been wanted since May 2023.
