PSIS Semarang officially brought in the Indonesian U-17 National Team player, Habil Akbar. This is the club's commitment to developing young players.
As information, this player played in the U-17 World Cup which was held in Indonesia. Habil himself is projected for a long-term period in the Laskar Mahesa Jenar squad – nicknamed PSIS -.
PSIS CEO, Yoyok Sukawi said Habil is a potential young player who can continue to develop if given the opportunity. That potential is what his team saw in recruiting this player.
“Today we announced a new PSIS recruit, namely Habil Akbar. Habil is a player for the Indonesian U17 national team and coincidentally at the U17 World Cup he also got the opportunity to play,” said Yoyok, quoted from the PT Liga Indonesia Baru (PT LIB) page.
The 45 year old man said that PSIS would indeed try to provide flying hours for young players. So, his team maneuvered to bring in young players.
“Habil was recruited because PSIS is committed to developing young players,” he said.
However, Habil will only be registered by PSIS in the official competition next season. Due to this, player registration in the top caste competition in the country has closed this season.
The 171 cm player has started training with the PSIS squad. Later, Abil can also be registered in the Elite Pro Academy (EPA) or League 1 competition.
