In the life journey of a married couple, the desire to have children is often one of many quite deep dreams.
However, for some couples, especially those who face difficulties conceiving, this dream can be a fairly complex challenge.
Along with advances in medical technology, in vitro fertilization (IVF) has become a reliable solution to make your dream of having children come true.

IVF or in vitro fertilization is a medical procedure used to help couples who are having difficulty getting pregnant. This method involves combining egg cells with sperm outside the human body, specifically in a laboratory environment.
IVF is often an option for couples who face various fertility problems such as endometriosis, fallopian tube disorders, sperm disorders in the male partner, or other medical conditions that make natural conception difficult.
Natural IVF vs traditional IVF
In the world of IVF, there are two main approaches that are often the choice of couples who want to get pregnant, namely: natural IVF and traditional IVF.
Although both aim to help couples achieve these goals, there are significant differences in the methods and approaches used.
This time Bubun will discuss in detail the differences between natural IVF and traditional IVF, helping couples who are considering these options to make an informed decision that suits their needs.
Natural in vitro fertilization, or natural IVF, is in some ways similar to conventional or traditional IVF. The basic principle is almost the same: Your health care provider takes mature eggs from your ovaries and fertilizes them with sperm in the laboratory. Then, the newly created embryo is transferred into the mother's uterus. If everything goes well, you will have a successful pregnancy.
However, according to Very Well Family, there are some big differences between conventional and natural IVF.
With conventional IVF, you will receive regular medical injections to stimulate your ovaries in an effort to produce lots of eggs in your uterus. Experts call this superovulation, or controlled ovarian stimulation (COS).
You also receive medication to prevent your body from releasing the eggs, so that the eggs can be harvested and then retrieved. The drugs commonly used for this purpose are gonadotropin-releasing hormone antagonists, also known as GnRH antagonists, such as Ganirelix or Cetrotide.
“This medication stops all messages from the brain to the ovaries, effectively preventing ovulation signals,” explains Michael Zinger, MD, an OB/GYN and reproductive endocrinologist at RMA Long Island IVF.
In comparison, the name 'natural IVF' might lead you to believe that it is a completely medication-free endeavor, but that's not always the case.
Some experts differentiate between natural, completely treatment-free IVF and what some call 'minimal stimulation' IVF or mini-IVF. With natural IVF, you do not undergo treatment. With mini-IVF, your doctor will offer you a small amount of ovarian-stimulating medication before egg retrieval.
Patients rarely request natural IVF, according to Peter Rizk, MD, an OB/GYN and women's fertility expert for Fairhaven Health in Bellingham, Washington, although some of them question the cost of all the treatments associated with standard IVF.
Dr. Rizk usually tells them that the success rate of natural IVF is lower than stimulated IVF, but he is willing to discuss the option with any patient who has questions.
Although natural IVF and traditional IVF have the same goal, namely helping couples achieve pregnancy, differences in the approach to using hormones are the main factor that differentiates the two. Natural IVF offers a gentler approach with lower hormone doses, while traditional IVF optimizes egg production with higher hormone doses.
Both natural IVF and traditional IVF need to be considered carefully, Mother, based on the partner's health condition, personal preferences, and consultation with the medical team involved in this procedure.
Both have their own strengths and weaknesses, and the final decision must be tailored to the needs and expectations of the married couple.
