Suara.com – Jordan Henderson officially joined Ajax Amsterdam on Friday after he and Saudi Arabian club Al Ettifaq agreed to terminate his contract.
“Ajax has reached an agreement with Jordan Henderson regarding his transfer to Amsterdam. He previously played for Al Ettifaq for the last six months and recently ended his contract with the Saudi Arabian club,” wrote Ajax Amsterdam on their official website as published by ANTARA.
Ajax revealed that Henderson has signed a two-year contract at the Dutch club until June 2026.
Ajax coach, John van’t Schip said that Henderson is an experienced midfielder and has the leadership spirit his team needs.
“We need an experienced midfielder who has the spirit of a leader. Because many players are injured, we also need a player who can immediately act as a replacement. Jordan Henderson is that player,” said John van’t Schip.
Henderson will wear the number six jersey at his new club.
During his time with Al Ettifaq, Henderson appeared 19 times in all competitions with a record of five assists. From his notes, Henderson led the club coached by Steven Gerrard to eighth place in the Saudi Arabian League standings with 25 points.
