GAZA – The head of the Hamas diaspora office, Khaled Meshaal, reiterated the movement’s rejection of the two-state solution.
He said the Palestinian people demand liberation from Israeli occupation, independence and the establishment of a Palestinian state.
Speaking to the Ammar Podcast on Tuesday (16/1/2024), Meshaal explained, “The West said that October 7 had opened up prospects for political vision, so they returned to talking about their old commodity, namely the two-state solution.”
“The 1967 borders represent 21 percent of Palestine, which is practically a fifth of its territory, so this is unacceptable,” he stressed.
“Our Palestinian project, which has a quasi-Palestinian national consensus, is that our rights in Palestine from the sea to the rivers, and from Ras Al-Naqoura to Umm Al-Rashrash or the Gulf of Aqaba, cannot be ignored. “This is the right of the Palestinian people and our presence in this land, modern and ancient,” he explained.
He explained, “Hamas has reiterated, to serve as a basis for joint meetings and joint national programs with other Palestinian factions, Hamas accepts a single state on the 1967 borders with Jerusalem as its capital, with full independence and the right of return without recognizing the legitimacy of the entity Zionists.”
He pointed out, “This position is taken to facilitate Palestinian and Arab consensus at this stage, but without giving up any part of our rights or land and without recognizing the usurping entity (Israel).”
