Anies said that he wanted to restore public trust in the KPK. According to him, the Corruption Eradication Commission must have the courage to take action against all parties who are suspected of committing corruption.
“Restoring public trust, returning the KPK to an institution that has the power and ability to take action against all corruption violations,” said Anies.
Anies said that one way to restore the dignity of the KPK was to revise the KPK Law.
“What aspect is this from? One, the law. We want to return the Corruption Eradication Committee to the authority and legality it once had. This means revising the Corruption Eradication Committee Law. We want this revision to return the Corruption Eradication Committee to a strong position,” said Anies.
Furthermore, Anies is committed to restoring high ethical standards at the KPK. This high ethical standard, said Anies, must be carried out by all levels of the KPK.
“High standards must be restored at the Corruption Eradication Commission, so that not only does the law provide strength and independence, but also that both the leadership and all staff work with a very high code of ethics,” said Anies.
Furthermore, Anies plans to improve the recruitment system at the KPK. Not only in the leadership class, but throughout all levels of the KPK.
“We are improving recruitment at the Corruption Eradication Committee as previously proposed by the president at the leadership level and staff recruitment, not just looking for work but in a place to eradicate corruption,” explained Anies.
