Suara.com – Anies Baswedan again broadcast live on TikTok on Saturday (13/1/2024) evening. During the live there was a funny moment when presidential candidate number 1 was confused about turning off the gift feature on TikTok. Anies himself only realized that the gift feature was on because the audience asked him.
“Dad, it’s okay if the gift lights up, it won’t be a problem, right?’ “Oh, the gift is on,” said Anies while reading the audience’s comments live. The video footage was re-shared by the account @Mdy_asmara1701 on platform X, quoted Suara.com on Sunday (14/1/2024).
However, it seems that Anies himself does not understand the meaning of the gift feature. So he didn’t know how to deactivate this feature. It is known that this feature takes the form of giving gifts from viewers to content creators who do live TikTok. These prizes can later be exchanged for money.
“What does it mean if the gift turns on? Hmm, how does it turn off? Haha. That feeling didn’t turn on the gift, did someone squeeze it,” said Anies, confused.
Anies also asked his audience for help in telling them how to turn off this feature. The former governor of DKI Newsdelivers.com went to TikTok to look for a manual tutorial so that the gift feature on his account wouldn’t appear.
“What should I do if the gift sign is on? There’s no tutorial here,” said Anies.
Netizens consider Anies’ confusion to be funny because he is exactly like fathers who are technologically illiterate, aka technologically clueless. Netizens themselves even looked for tutorials to help Anies. On the other hand, there are also netizens who are aware that politicians should automatically not be able to turn on the gift feature during live TikTok.
“It was really fun for those who asked, so I went to Google. I looked for a tutorial for turning off TikTok live gifts,” commented netizen with the account @selenxxxx.
“Real sir, you are really great again,” said the account @eddyxxxxx.
“I’m just confused about why the light on can turn off the gift, but btw, I want to give a gift, it’s difficult, there’s writing that you can’t give gifts to political figures,” said @buzzitxxxx.
“Even though the gift feature should have automatically turned off,” said @oskarxxxxx.
It is known that in its policy, TikTok ensures that it does not accept political advertisements. This policy is to prevent misuse of TikTok.
“We do not accept political advertising, and we have also developed a Government, Politician and Political Party Accounts (GPPPA) policy which functions to prevent abuse of the platform,” wrote TikTok in its application policy.
TikTok said that this rule had been in effect for a long time. This also includes paid advertising and creators who are paid to create political (branded) content.
Even government, politician and political party accounts are not allowed to receive gifts or gifts from live TikTok. They are only allowed to interact with fans through this feature.
