Some of the agenda included sitting in the driver’s seat of an electric car produced by VinFast, seeing various assembly processes, up to installing the electric car battery.
Quoted from the Antara news agency, President Joko Widodo expressed his appreciation to Pham Nat Vuong, Chairman of VinFast for the investment plan in Indonesia.
At that time, VinFast present included VinGroup CEO Nguyen Viet Quang, VinFast Deputy CEO Phm Nhat Quan Ang, Head of VinFast Factory Trunh Vanh Ngan, and General Assembly Manager Hong Sia.

Meanwhile from Indonesia, Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi, Minister of BUMN Erick Thohir, Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita, Chief of Presidential Staff Moeldoko, Member of the Presidential Advisory Council Gandi Sulistiyanto, and Indonesian Ambassador to Vietnam Denny Abdi also accompanied President Joko Widodo.
“We fully support VinFast’s investment plans in Indonesia. If there are any matters relating to permits, we can go to my minister,” said President Joko Widodo through the Presidential Secretariat in Newsdelivers.com, during a visit to the VinFast office in Hai Phong City.
On that occasion, the President expressed his appreciation to Pham Nat Vuong, Chairman of VinFast for his investment plans in Indonesia.
“This is an industry that is developing very rapidly and will invest in Indonesia as soon as possible,” said President Joko Widodo.
He also hopes that VinFast’s presence in Indonesia can be integrated with the electric battery industry, thereby enabling the national electric vehicle ecosystem to develop further.
“So we hope, as I often say, that this large ecosystem will soon be built, and the Chairman of VinFast said that he will start construction as soon as possible,” he continued.
