Suara.com – Shin Tae-yong has taken firm action by removing Saddil Ramdani from the final squad for the Indonesian national team.
Adam Alis will replace Saddil and will join the squad that will compete in the 2023 Asian Cup.
The composition of the 26 Garuda squad players has been confirmed and will most likely not change.
In addition, Arkhan Fikri will also return to his homeland.
The decision to leave Saddil Ramdani out of the Asian Cup squad was surprising, considering his solid performance in the Malaysian League.
Malaysian media, Makan Bola, highlighted Saddil’s key role at Sabah FC with a record of seven goals and nine assists.
Despite being a mainstay in the winger position for the Garuda squad last year, Shin Tae-yong suddenly did not include Saddil in the Asian Cup squad.
“Sabah FC’s lively star, who is enjoying his best season with The Rhinos this season, has contributed significantly by appearing in almost every Malaysian Super League match.”
“He has also played a big role with the Indonesian national team under the control of Shin Tae-yong since last year.”
“However, based on the latest information from the Indonesian National Team website, it appears that the name of the 25 year old player is not included in the list of 26 players who will compete in Qatar,” said a report from Makan Bola.
From the same source, it was reported that the Raha-born player suffered an injury during the trial against Iran, perhaps being the reason Shin Tae-yong did not include him in the squad.
“Saddil reportedly suffered an injury against Iran, just a day after his good performance against Libya in the previous two friendly matches,” said Makan Bola.
Other players, such as Rafael Struick, Egy Maulana Vikri, and Witan Sulaeman, can fill the position left by Saddil.
