Suara.com – Presidential candidate (capres) serial number 01 Anies Baswedan held a campaign in Gorontalo, last Monday (8/1/2024).
Like campaigns in other places, in Gorontalo the Urging Anies event was also held. There was an interesting moment when Anies urged him in Gorontalo.
At that time there was a farmer who had the opportunity to have a direct dialogue with Anies Baswedan. The farmer opened the conversation by imitating the words of Gibran Rakabuming Raka when he declared himself vice presidential candidate.
“Don’t worry Mr Anies, we are already here,” said farmer Budi Sutamin Ibrahim, who was immediately greeted by cheers from the audience.
Budi admitted that he is a millennial farmer in Gorontalo and explained the problems farmers face every harvest.
According to him, the government always imports rice during harvest time. Budi also asked Anies Baswedan for tips on handling rice imports if he is elected President of the Republic of Indonesia. Another problem that Budi complained about was the difficulty of getting diesel.
Anies Baswedan answered that farmers always complained about the problem of rice imports. Anies said that rice imports during the harvest period caused prices to fall.
According to Anies, this causes farmers to lose money. Anies Baswedan promised to control the problem of rice imports so that farmers have price certainty. One way is with a contract farming program or harvest purchase contract.
“With this contract, whatever happens outside, farmers have a sense of security because there is a contract for what is produced. And this is what must be grown,” said Anies.
