GAZA – Israeli soldiers have looted money and gold artifacts from the Gaza Strip, amounting to around USD 25 million or IDR 387 billion since October 7.
“Dozens of testimonies given by residents of the Gaza Strip regarding the theft of money, gold and artifacts estimated at 90 million shekels (USD million) during the last 92 days by the Israeli occupation army,” said a statement from the Gaza Media Office, reported by Anadolu.
“Theft operations took place in various ways, the first at checkpoints, such as Salah al-Din Street, where they stole bags belonging to refugees moving from the north to the south Gaza Strip, containing their valuables, such as money, gold, and artifacts.”
The Gaza Media Office said another method involves robbing houses whose residents were asked to evacuate, during which they (Israeli soldiers) take commemorative photos and video clips for these crimes, some of which are posted on their social media accounts, such as the one in the town of Beit Lahia in northern Gaza.
The report indicated that Israeli newspapers documented the crime, and Yedioth Ahronoth described it as “a systematic theft of Gazans’ money.”
There has been no comment from Israeli authorities regarding the allegations.
