Shin Tae-yong asked fan observers and critics of the Indonesian National Team to stop comparing local and hereditary players. According to him, all players have the same goal for the Indonesian National Team.
Shin Tae-yong emphasized that all the players in his current squad are like family. They also have the same goal, namely to provide the best for the Indonesian National Team and the people.
“Let’s stop comparing local players and hereditary players. We are all one family here with one dream, namely to provide the best for the national team and the Indonesian people,” said Shin, quoted from his official Instagram account (@shintaeyong7777), Friday (5/1/ 2024).
“It doesn’t matter where we come from, because we are always united, both on and off the field. When our team experiences defeat, we all feel it, and when the team wins, it is a victory for all of us,” he continued to emphasize.

In line with Shin Tae-yong, Asnawi Mangkualam also called for the same thing. The former PSM Makassar player said fans only had to focus on supporting the Garuda Squad in the 2023 Asian Cup.
“As players, wearing the ‘Red and White’ jersey is not only pride, but also an honor for us. Come together, support and support us passionately in the 2024 (2023) Asian Cup,” said Asnawi in his upload on Instagram ( @asnawi_bhr).
As is known, recently many fans and observers have compared local and hereditary players. The public discussions that are created sometimes do not look for solutions, but instead give the impression of ‘pouring petrol on the fire’.
No wonder, Shin and Asnawi finally opened their voices regarding this issue so that it doesn’t drag on. Meanwhile, the Indonesian National Team is currently holding a training camp (TC) before the 2023 Asian Cup.
The TC will be held in Türkiye starting from December 20 2023. Not only training, the Garuda squad also played three trial matches, namely twice against Libya (2 and 5 January 2024), and once against Iran (9 January 2024).
The Indonesian national team itself will join Japan, Iraq and Vietnam in Group D of the 2023 Asian Cup. In the first match, the Garuda Squad will face Iraq at the Ahmad bin Ali Stadium, Ar-Rayyan, Qatar on Monday (15/1/2024) .
