JAKARTA – Even though the launch date is still a long way off, leaks of the iPhone 17 are already circulating on the internet. The latest news is that this premium smartphone will receive a significant improvement in the camera sector.
Based on rumors from well-known leaker Ming-Chi Kuo, quoted from 9To5Mac, Friday (5/1/2024), the iPhone 17 released next year will be equipped with a 24MP resolution camera, up from the iPhone 15 and 16 which still use 12MP cameras.
In addition to increasing resolution, lens coating will also improve quality. Kuo said the iPhone 17 specifications will have a six-element lens design, different from the iPhone 15 and 16 which only have five elements.

According to Kuo’s estimates, the overall cost of front camera components will more than double. The gadget giant is also expected to receive camera supplies from Genius.
Kuo said Genius is also one of the suppliers of the periscope lens on the iPhone 16. A 5x 12MP zoom camera will be included on the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max models this year, increasing overall demand for components.
