Suara.com – PT Telkom Indonesia Tbk has prepared a number of efforts to deal with the surge in internet traffic during the Christmas and New Year (Nataru) holidays.
Telkom’s Main Director, Ririek Adriansyah, stated that this was done for the sake of comfort and the best experience for Telkom customers.
“TelkomGroup has prepared infrastructure that operates redundantly, both from Telkom’s 28 submarine cable infrastructure and international traffic routes via the Batam and Manado gateways,” he said in a press release, quoted Friday (29/12/2023).
Apart from that, Telkom also increased capacity by 28 Tbps to anticipate the surge in telecommunications traffic which continues to increase every year.
He projects that the traffic spike in Nataru this year will reach 20.4Tbps, an increase of 5.15 percent or 1 Tbps from the previous year.

Ririek said that TelkomGroup’s entire infrastructure and services are monitored regularly through 90 main posts including national, regional, Witel, functional divisions and subsidiaries involving 19,503 personnel on duty 24×7 from December 22 2023 to January 2 2024.

As a form of appreciation to customers, TelkomGroup also presents various attractive offers for both domestic and international retail (Business-to-Consumer) customers as well as for the corporate segment (Business-to-Business).
“Customer digital experience also continues to be prioritized with applications that can support various needs, such as Indibiz, Pijar, BigBox, and mobile gaming,” he continued.
Not only focusing on business, TelkomGroup is also actively interpreting the momentum of NARU 2023/2024 by sharing with the community through social activities providing operational assistance to churches and orphanages, compensation to Christian foundations, as well as digitalization support for Christian foundation schools.
“As we enter the end of 2023, TelkomGroup would like to thank the support and trust of all Indonesian people. “Happy homecoming and holiday, hopefully in 2024, with digitalization we can step towards a better future together,” concluded Ririek.
