Lukas Enembe’s death was confirmed by one of his lawyers, Petrus Bala Pattyona.
“Where he was being treated, at the Kartika Pavilion at the RSPAD at 11 o’clock,” said Petrus.
2. Suffering from Kidney Failure
According to Petrus, Lukas Enembe was diagnosed with kidney failure. He is also said to have been in treatment for a long time.
“He has been (treated) for a long time, during the trials in October, his kidneys failed,” said Petrus.
3. Will be flown to Papua
According to Petrus, Lukas Enembe’s body will later be flown to Papua. The schedule will still be negotiated by the family.

4. Delivered since October 23
On the other hand, the Corruption Eradication Committee expressed its condolences for the death of Lukas Enembe. Lukas is a defendant in a bribery and gratification case.
According to the Corruption Eradication Commission, Lukas Enembe has been delivered to the Gatot Soebroto Army Hospital since October 23 2023.
Head of KPK News, Ali Fikri, said that the KPK had collaborated with the Indonesian Doctors Association (IDI), a team of RSPAD doctors for intensive health care. Ali said that the family also brought in a doctor from Singapore for an optimal health examination of Lukas Enembe.
5. KPK Declares Lukas Enembe Case Ended By Law
With the death of Lukas Enembe, the Corruption Eradication Committee (KPK) declared the bribery and gratification case and the TPPU case that ensnared the deceased declared an end to the law.
“With the death of the suspect, the right to sue, both in cases of criminal acts of corruption and TPPU, is ended by law,” said KPK Deputy Chairman Johanis Tanak to journalists, Tuesday (26/12/2023).

However, Tanak said, the state still has the right to demand state financial compensation through a civil lawsuit.
He said that the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) must hand over all of Lukas’ files to the state attorney general (JPN) so that he can file a lawsuit for state losses.
6. Lawyers Demand KPK Responsibility
The lawyer for the late Lukas Enembe, Petrus Bala Pattyona, said that the Corruption Eradication Committee (KPK) must be held responsible.
“Oh yes. You have to be responsible. Especially the situation in Papua. I was called from Papua. Now there is turmoil in Papua, and they say Mr. Lukas is innocent,” said Petrus when met by journalists at the RSPAD Funeral Home, Newsdelivers.com, Tuesday (26/12/2023 ).
He conveyed this, considering that Lukas was sick while undergoing the legal process.
“Yes, (the Corruption Eradication Commission must be responsible) for sick people. According to the law, sick people cannot be tried,” said Petrus.
7. Ask to Stand Before Dying
Before he died, Lukas Enembe was said to have asked for help to stand up. This story was conveyed by a relative who took part in treating Lukas at the hospital, namely Pianus Enembe, to his attorney, Antonius Eko Nugroho.
According to Pianus’ story, Lukas asked to stand up. Hearing this request, Pianus immediately helped Lukas to stand up.
At that time, Lukas grabbed Pianus’ waist.
“Before he died, Mr. Lukas asked him to stand up, then Mr. Pianus helped Mr. Lukas to stand up, by holding Mr. Lukas’ waist,” said Antonius in his written statement, Tuesday (26/12/2023).
8. AHY’s prayer for Lukas Enembe
Chairman of the Democratic Party, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono or AHY, expressed his condolences for the death of the former Governor of Papua, Lukas Enembe. AHY at the same time offered prayers.
“Hearing the sad news of the passing of Mr. Lukas Enembe, we are very sad and pray that he will rest in peace with God Almighty, that all his sins and mistakes will be forgiven, that all his good deeds will be accepted during his life,” said AHY at the Baiturrahma Grand Mosque, Banda Aceh, Tuesday (26 /12/2023).

“And of course we pray that Lukas’s mother, sons and daughters and the extended family left behind will be given strength, patience and can continue living well,” said AHY.
AHY did not send condolences directly to the funeral home. Because, he is still on his way out of town.
“Meanwhile, I have a trip out of town, which means continuing from Sumatra to Kalimantan temporarily, so I can’t go there yet,” he said.
9. Lukas Enembe Sentenced to 8 Years in Prison
Lukas Enembe himself was previously sentenced to eight years in prison and a fine of IDR 500 million in a corruption case involving receiving bribes and gratuities worth IDR 6.8 billion.
The decision was read by the panel of judges at the Newsdelivers.com Corruption Crime Court (Tipikor) on Thursday (19/10/2023). The panel of judges judged that Lukas was proven guilty.
“Sentenced the defendant Lukas Enembe to eight years and a fine of Rp. 500 million, subsidiary to 4 months,” said Chief Judge Rianto Adam Pontoh.
In addition, Lukas’ political rights were revoked for five years. He also has to pay replacement money worth IDR 19,690,793,900 or IDR 19.6 billion no later than after the decision becomes legally binding.
“If he is unable to pay within that time, his assets will be confiscated and auctioned off by the prosecutor to cover the replacement money.”
“If the assets are not sufficient to cover the replacement money, then it will be replaced by a sentence of two years in prison,” said the judge.
The judge mentioned the mitigating factors, Lukas has never been punished, is sick, and has a family to support.
