Suara.com – The manager of the Indonesian National Team, Sumardji, denied that Dendy Sulistyawan was a player entrusted to him by Shin Tae-yong.
In particular, Shin Tae-yong chose Dendy Sulistyawan as a starter, even though his performance was declining.
In the match against Iraq, Dendy Sulistyawan received criticism from netizens because he did not make a significant contribution and only ran around aimlessly throughout the match.

Responding to this criticism, Sumardji firmly denied the accusations and proposed that Dendy Sulistyawan be expelled from the National Team.
Sumardji stated that Dendy’s call to the National Team was Shin Tae-yong’s decision without any interference from him.
“I swore that I would never (leave a player), I didn’t do that, if I may ask Dendy to be dropped. “Rather than making a fuss, it’s okay, so I can be calm, but it’s Shin Tae-yong who calls,” he said, quoted from @garudaevolution.football.
Dendy Sulistyawan’s summons to join the national team previously sparked debate among supporters on social media.
Dendy’s performance was compared to Stefano Lilipaly who had more impressive statistics by scoring 9 goals and 11 assists from 23 matches with Borneo FC.
National Team supporters asked the basis for Shin Tae-yong’s decision, considering that while defending Bhayangkara, Dendy only scored one goal and three assists from 22 appearances.
This is where the suspicion emerged that Dendy was considered a trusted player.
