Suara.com – Presidential candidate number 1, Anies Baswedan, defended his vice presidential candidate, Muhaimin Iskandar, after being humiliated by vice presidential candidate number 2, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, with the term SGIE or State of Global Islamic Economy (SGIE).
He did not have a problem with Gibran’s question, but left it to the public to judge.
“But as a question, of course it is valid and the public will judge whether this is indeed a format for memorization of quizzes or a format about ideology, ideas, values which are then realized in policy,” said Anies after the vice presidential debate at the Newsdelivers.com Convention Center (JCC) Hall, Senayan. , Newsdelivers.com, Friday (22/12/2023).
Anies explained that at the national leadership level, the appropriate questions to ask should touch on substantial matters.
Because according to him, the answer to the question asked by Gibran can actually be found on the Google search engine.
“Because what is needed at the national leadership level are substantive things and this is what was really brought up (in the presidential election debate),” he said.
Cak Imin is confused
Cak Imin looked confused when asked by Gibran during the vice presidential debate.
Initially, Gibran asked Cak Imin about increasing Indonesia’s current SGIE ranking.
Receiving this question, Cak Imin admitted that he did not know what SGIE was.
“Frankly, I don’t understand what SGIE is,” answered Cak Imin in the Second Debate for Presidential and Vice Presidential Candidates at the JCC, Newsdelivers.com, Friday (22/12/2023).
Because he didn’t know what SGIE was, the moderator asked if there was another answer from Cak Imin because the time to answer questions was running out.
Cak Imin was also willing to stop the opportunity to answer. “It’s okay because I’ve never heard of SGIE,” answered Cak Imin.
The moderator also invited Gibran to respond to the question in question and explain what SGIE was.
“Gus, we are focusing on developing sharia economics, halal food, halal skin care, automatically we also have to understand what SGIE is. So SGIE is the State of the Global Islamic Economy. So I’m sorry if the question is a bit difficult, Gus,” said Gibran.
