The police will hand over Dito Mahendra’s case to the South Newsdelivers.com District Prosecutor’s Office regarding illegal firearms possession. This second stage of delegation is carried out after the case files are declared complete or P21.
“To DM, whom we have previously conveyed, he was arrested in Bali on September 7 2023 and was immediately detained at the Criminal Investigation Detention Center until now for 105 days,” said the National Police Criminal Investigation Director Brigadier General Djuhandhani Rahardjo Puro in a press conference at the National Police Criminal Investigation Unit, Thursday ( 12/21).
“Furthermore, the case files that have been carried out by investigators are declared P21. And today, Thursday 21 December 2023, stage 2 will be carried out at the South Newsdelivers.com District Prosecutor’s Office,” he continued.
According to police information, the firearm owned by Dito Mahendra belonged to him personally because Nindy Ayunda’s lover had a hobby of shooting.
This is proven by the registration of Dito Mahendra in the Indonesian Target Shooting and Hunting Association (Perbakin). Even so, Brighen Djuhandhani said that the weapons owned by Dito Mahendra were illegal.
The reason is, there are no documents regarding the ownership of these firearms.
“Incidentally, the person concerned has a hobby of shooting and is registered with Perbakin, so that’s the extent of it. However, even though he has a membership, the formal obligation is that the weapons must have a permit and have the documents,” said Brigadier General Djuhandhani.
“We are not allowed to own firearms without documents and store them and so on,” he concluded.
As is known, Dito Mahendra was declared a DPO because he was always absent from investigators’ summons after he was named a suspect in a case of illegal weapons possession. Dito Mahendra was finally arrested while he was in Bali on September 7 2023.
After being arrested, the police immediately detained Dito Mahendra.
Dito, to this day, is still behind bars for illegal firearms possession.
